Question 399 of 433
Should I worry about red meat and processed meat?

The short answer
Processed meat, yes. Bacon, sausage, hot dogs, and deli meats are classified as a cause of colon cancer and are tied to heart disease. Unprocessed red meat is a smaller concern; keep it occasional.
A practical limit is one or two servings of red meat a week and processed meat rarely. Eggs, for most people, are fine at about one a day. If your LDL is high, your response to dietary cholesterol may be stronger; check your numbers.
