Question 358 of 433
What is “inflammaging”?

The short answer
A slow, low-grade inflammation that rises with age and contributes to heart disease, diabetes, dementia, frailty, and cancer.
It comes from many sources: belly fat, zombie cells, a leaky gut lining, chronic infections including gum disease, poor sleep, and an immune system that has grown both weaker and more irritable. It is why hs-CRP belongs on your lab list.
