Question 401 of 433
Are microplastics a real health threat?

The short answer
They may be. In 2024, researchers found tiny plastic particles inside the artery plaque of most patients studied, and those patients had far more heart attacks, strokes, and deaths over the next three years.
That study does not prove cause, and we cannot yet measure or remove these particles reliably. Sensible steps cost little: do not microwave food in plastic, use glass or steel containers and bottles, filter your drinking water, and ventilate and dust your home. Do not pay for tests or “detox” treatments that claim to clear plastics from your blood.
