Question 309 of 433

Hydrogen water, alkaline water, and grounding mats?

Evidence grade (draft mapping)FNot demonstrated / insufficient
Row of unlabeled small vials on navy

The short answer

No convincing evidence for any of them.

Hydrogen water has a handful of small, short studies with inconsistent results. Alkaline water cannot change the pH of your blood; your kidneys and lungs hold that within a very narrow range no matter what you drink. Grounding or “earthing” products rest on small, poorly controlled studies, often by people who sell them. Walking barefoot on grass is pleasant and free.
