Question 293 of 433
Glutathione pushes and high-dose vitamin C?

The short answer
No evidence for wellness or “detox,” and some risk.
Glutathione is the body’s main antioxidant, and your cells make it themselves. The FDA has reported patients sickened by glutathione infusions made from contaminated ingredients. High-dose vitamin C by vein is being studied in cancer care and severe infection; in healthy people there are no outcome studies. It can cause kidney stones and kidney injury in susceptible people, and it destroys red blood cells in people with an enzyme deficiency called G6PD.
