Question 297 of 433
What about peptides that boost growth hormone, like sermorelin, CJC-1295, and ipamorelin?

The short answer
They prompt your pituitary to release more growth hormone. They raise the same concerns as growth hormone itself and have even less evidence.
They are promoted for fat loss, muscle, sleep, and recovery. They do raise growth hormone and a related hormone called IGF-1. Whether that produces lasting benefit in healthy adults has not been shown, and higher IGF-1 over many years is associated with higher cancer risk in some studies. An FDA advisory committee voted overwhelmingly in 2024 against allowing pharmacies to compound CJC-1295 and ipamorelin. Sermorelin, an older drug, is still prescribed.
