Question 207 of 433
Who should take testosterone?

The short answer
Men with clearly low levels on two morning tests and real symptoms. Men with normal levels who want to feel 25 again should not.
A large safety trial published in 2023, TRAVERSE, followed more than 5,000 middle-aged and older men with low testosterone and heart risk. Testosterone did not raise heart attacks or strokes. That was reassuring. It did find more atrial fibrillation, more blood clots in the lung, and more kidney injury, and, to the surprise of many, more fractures.
