Question 206 of 433
How can a man raise testosterone without a prescription?

The short answer
Lose belly fat, sleep, lift weights, treat sleep apnea, and drink less. These address the most common causes of a low reading.
Fat tissue converts testosterone to estrogen. Losing a substantial amount of weight can raise testosterone by a third or more. One week of five-hour nights lowered testosterone by 10 to 15 percent in healthy young men. Opioid pain medicines and heavy alcohol suppress it. Over-the-counter “testosterone boosters” do very little.
