Question 143 of 433
What is the fastest way to reverse insulin resistance?

The short answer
Lose fat from the liver, build muscle, and move after meals. Improvement shows up within days to weeks.
Walk for ten to fifteen minutes after eating. Working muscles pull sugar out of the blood without needing insulin.
Lift weights. Every pound of muscle is a place to put glucose.
Cut liquid sugar first: soda, juice, sweetened coffee.
Lose 5 to 10 percent of your weight if you carry extra. Liver fat falls quickly.
Eat protein and vegetables before starch at a meal. It blunts the sugar rise.
Sleep seven hours.
Treat sleep apnea.
Whether you eat lower-carbohydrate or Mediterranean matters less than whether you can sustain it. Both work.
