Question 60 of 433
What about “inflammation panels” with Lp-PLA2, MPO, and oxidized LDL?

The short answer
SKIP. hs-CRP is the only inflammation test with a role in guidelines.
These markers track with risk in studies, but a drug that lowered one of them failed in two large trials, and no study shows that measuring them changes what we do. They add $100 to $400 to a bill. Measure the fire with hs-CRP, and spend the difference on something useful.
