Which supplements do you take yourself?

Softgel capsules on a sunny windowsill

The short answer

Seven, counting vitamin D3 with K2 as one. I take them as a system, not as a collection, and I have a reason for each.

In the morning, with food:

Creatine, 5 grams.

Vitamin D3 with vitamin K2.

CoQ10 in its ubiquinol form.

Omega-3, 1 to 2 grams.

Psyllium fiber, about a tablespoon in water.

At night:

Magnesium glycinate, 300 to 400 milligrams.

Glycine, 3 to 5 grams (I take the higher dose; 3 grams is the studied amount).

Now the honesty this book promised. Creatine, fiber, and correcting low vitamin D and magnesium stand on solid ground. The evidence for K2, for CoQ10 in people without heart failure, and for omega-3 capsules in healthy people is mixed, and I have said so in the answers that follow. I am not a supplement enthusiast, and I do not sell any as of this writing. This is what I have concluded for myself after reading the trials. It is not a prescription for you.
