Question 217 of 433

Are DHEA and pregnenolone useful?

The short answer

Not for most people. Trials of DHEA in older adults showed little or no benefit for strength, body composition, or well-being.

They are hormones sold as supplements, which means little quality control. Vaginal DHEA is an approved prescription for a specific menopause symptom; that is a different product and purpose.
