Question 409 of 433
Can I slow the aging of my eyes?

The short answer
Yes. Do not smoke, wear sunglasses, control blood pressure and blood sugar, eat leafy greens and fish, and have regular dilated eye exams.
Glaucoma steals vision silently and is found only by examination. For people with intermediate macular degeneration, a specific vitamin formula tested in the AREDS2 trial slows progression; it does nothing for people without the disease. Cataract surgery restores vision reliably when the time comes.
