Question 374 of 433
Are the luxury longevity resorts worth it?

The short answer
As a vacation that resets your habits, perhaps. As medicine, no.
A week at a well-known Swiss clinic costs about 30,000 Swiss francs and up. An American resort’s four-day longevity program costs about $20,000. European medical spas start around €10,000 a week. You will be tested, massaged, fed beautifully, and lectured kindly. Many people come home motivated.
The effect lasts as long as the habits do. If a week away is what it takes to start sleeping, moving, and eating well, it may be money well spent. Do not confuse the setting with the science.
