Question 351 of 433
Do stem cell treatments reverse aging?

The short answer
No. Outside of a few approved uses such as bone marrow transplant for blood cancers, stem cell treatments are unproven, and some have caused serious harm.
Clinics in the United States and abroad sell stem cells for arthritis, heart disease, dementia, and “anti-aging.” Patients have suffered blindness, infections, and tumors. Cells given by vein mostly lodge in the lungs and disappear within days. The FDA continues to send warning letters; one in 2026 noted that a company’s “exosome” product did not appear to contain exosomes at all.
The legal picture is changing. Florida, Utah, Montana, and several other states have passed laws allowing doctors to offer certain unapproved stem cell or experimental treatments with consent. Legal does not mean proven. It means the burden of judgment has moved to you.
Real research is under way, and I hope it succeeds. Until it does, if you are paying out of pocket, you are not receiving a treatment. You are funding a business.
