Question 26 of 433
Why does a longevity book spend a whole part on the heart?

The short answer
Because heart and blood vessel disease is the leading killer on earth, and it is the one we know how to prevent best.
If you want to live long, the math is simple. You have to not die of the thing most likely to kill you. For most people reading this, that is a heart attack or stroke. We have had the tools to prevent most of them for thirty years. The tragedy I see every week is not a lack of science. It is that people chase the exotic and skip the proven.
